{"id":11306,"date":"2022-06-02T14:18:19","date_gmt":"2022-06-02T14:18:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fcpr.org\/?p=11306"},"modified":"2023-04-14T13:47:57","modified_gmt":"2023-04-14T17:47:57","slug":"fundacion-comunitaria-entra-en-grupo-de-finalistas-del-system-changes-awards-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fcpr.org\/en\/fundacion-comunitaria-entra-en-grupo-de-finalistas-del-system-changes-awards-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Fundacion Comunitaria enters finalist group for System Changes Awards 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The international recognition is granted by the movement <strong>Catalyst 2030<\/strong> and recognizes individuals and organizations that seek to advance the <strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>San Juan | Thursday, June 2, 2022| The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fcpr.org\/en\/\"><strong>Puerto Rico Community Foundation<\/strong><\/a> (FCPR) is one of the finalist organizations for the <a href=\"https:\/\/awards.catalyst2030.net\/2022-awards\/\"><em>System Changes Awards 2022<\/em><\/a>, an annual recognition awarded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/awards.catalyst2030.net\/\"><strong>Catalyst 2030<\/strong>,<\/a> global movement of people and organizations committed to executing bold and innovative strategies to achieve the <strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, as promulgated by the United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vision of the <strong><em>System Changes Awards 2022<\/em><\/strong>, The purpose of this year's second edition is to recognize individuals and organizations that foster creative collaborations and explore solutions to address the challenges posed by poverty, food insecurity, unequal access to education, among other issues that affect the well-being of our societies, in order to advance the SDGs and thus make the world a better place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>System Changes Awards 2022<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>received 200 nominations, from which the movement's General Assembly, seven members of the jury and 12 members of the Awards Committee selected more than 60 finalists. The Awards Committee is co-chaired by the founder of <strong><em>Social Imperative<\/em><\/strong> and member of the movement's Board of Directors, Matthew Bishop, and the CEO of <em>Breakthrough<\/em>, Sohini Bhattacharya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FCPR is a finalist in the Donor category (<em>Donors<\/em>), under the sub-category of Leader in Alliances (<em>Leader in Partnership), <\/em>together with <strong><em>Veddis Foundation<\/em><\/strong> (India); and <strong><em>Wellspring Philanthropic Fund<\/em> <\/strong>y <strong><em>Women Moving Millions<\/em><\/strong> (United States).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a movement of committed social entrepreneurs, we are determined to make progress on the SDGs, as well as to support people, organizations and governments that agree on this common goal. We also want to celebrate their success. Our annual awards ceremony is just one way to highlight the achievements of our members and partners, who demonstrate how our movement is impacting the world to make it a more just place for people,\u201d said Jeroo Billimoria, spokesperson for <em>Catalyst.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very honored to have been nominated for this recognition. The philanthropic and nonprofit sector is doing a lot in Puerto Rico to achieve the SDGs. Our goal is to make us aware of what we are achieving and to identify existing gaps in the fulfillment of these globally important goals. This recognition encourages us to continue our work, and also allows us to project Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, on a platform of international projection,\u201d said Mary Ann Gabino, vice president of the Foundation. <em>Senior <\/em>of the FCPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The finalists span sectors and include leaders who continually distinguish themselves in philanthropic, government, business, bilateral and multilateral efforts.
