{"id":16885,"date":"2024-10-22T11:38:17","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T15:38:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fcpr.org\/?p=16885"},"modified":"2024-11-27T15:30:58","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T19:30:58","slug":"fondo-fundacion-jose-miguel-agrelot-busca-aumentar-su-impacto-a-favor-de-la-salud-mental-de-puerto-rico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fcpr.org\/en\/fondo-fundacion-jose-miguel-agrelot-busca-aumentar-su-impacto-a-favor-de-la-salud-mental-de-puerto-rico\/","title":{"rendered":"The Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot Foundation Fund seeks to increase its impact in favor of mental health in Puerto Rico."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>San Juan | Tuesday, October 22, 2024 <\/strong>| 19 years since the establishment of the <strong>Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot Foundation Fund. <\/strong>Since then, it has contributed to the mental health of the Puerto Rican people by donating to non-profit organizations with artistic and educational programs or projects that have a positive impact on the mental health of their participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fund was established in 2005 in the <strong>Puerto Rico Community Foundation <\/strong>(FCPR), as an initiative of the comedian's granddaughter, <strong>Ana Yolanda Agrelot<\/strong>, to celebrate and perpetuate his grandfather's legacy. \u201cThe Fund allows us to celebrate my grandfather's contributions every day. To remember his feat of joy, that which he injected us with every character and every comedy step. That he made us laugh. That allowed us to laugh at ourselves and he would take the \u2018tip\u2019 out of social and political events, to alleviate them. In the end, what it was all about was to procure a better mental health for our people,\u201d Agrelot said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this period, the Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot Foundation Fund has granted donations to CREARTE Inc., Proyecto Inspirarte, Fundaci\u00f3n A-Mar para Ni\u00f1os Quemados Inc. and <em>Shalom Facility Care Inc.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased to have walked this journey with the Agrelot family, facilitating their philanthropic concerns. Our role is to facilitate the family's process for philanthropic contributions to reach organizations with a strong commitment to strengthening the mental health of our communities,\u201d said FCPR's president and chief executive officer, the <strong>Dr. Nelson I. Col\u00f3n Tarrats.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot Foundation Fund will be very present at the event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot, which will take place on November 2, 2024. The Gala<strong> 20 Years at your Rhythm<\/strong> will be a celebration of 20 years of hosting artists, personalities and athletes, among others, who have brought joy and happiness to the Puerto Rican people and to those who have visited us from other lands. It will be a spectacular evening where elegance and entertainment will come together in a unique celebration. His fruitful career of more than 50 years earned him multiple awards and recognitions, among them the \u201c<em>Guinness Book of World Records<\/em>\u201dHe was awarded the \u201cSu Alegre Despertar\u201d for his program \u201cSu Alegre Despertar\" -which he hosted since its beginnings-, earning the title of the longest running radio program, with 54 years on the air.
