We are looking for collaborators to participate in this program to strengthen community resilience in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Puerto Rico Community Energy Resilience Fund seeks to lower financing barriers and increases local capacity for accessing renewable energy. The selected facilities will receive a financing offer tailored to their needs, operational training, and technical assistance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of a solar energy and storage system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our long-term goal is to increase the availability of renewable, clean, and resilient sources for sustainable community development and to ensure the continuity of essential services and products during emergencies and blackouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT IS A CRITICAL FACILITY?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A critical facility is a business or community organization that provides <strong>essential services<\/strong> for life and therefore requires continuity of operations, especially during and after natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These services include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>emergency management services (medical, natural hazards)<\/li><li>public safety and protection<\/li><li>support for vulnerable or dependent populations<\/li><li>economic services<\/li><li>supply of essential products and services<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Foster coordination between non-profit organizations and the private sector to strengthen energy resilience of vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico.<\/li><li>Leverage philanthropic capital to facilitate access to affordable financing for critical facilities.<\/li><li>Promote the equitable distribution of philanthropic support for energy resilience in Puerto Rico.<\/li><li>Support capacity building in the management of renewable energy resources and share lessons learned for sustainable community development.<\/li><li>Promote the development of a decentralized renewable energy system to strengthen and provide redundancy to the current electricity service.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of each participant. To this end, the activities will be modified to maintain the prevention and precautionary measures necessary to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
