Community Foundation of Puerto Rico (FCPR) is a philanthropic institution with 38 years of service. Our overall objective is to reduce the inequality gap in Puerto Rico's communities by increasing community capital (physical, environmental, social, financial, cultural and human). We focus our projects on access to basic resources (i.e. water, energy, housing, education), seeking community ownership and management of their resources. We have also taken a keen interest in the design and execution of programs that provide training and technical assistance to communities. In addition, over the years, we have become philanthropic advisors to individuals, families, corporations and other foundations to increase the return on their financial contributions in the form of donations and grants to the community.
The Puerto Rico Community Foundation values equality among people, promotes education for equity and fosters equal access to opportunities from a gender perspective. We honor our diversities of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, culture and nationality. We recognize our role as leaders of racial equity in the philanthropic ecosystem of PR; and we affirm our commitment to promote practices of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as to use inclusive language that projects respect for diversity.
