Multisectoral Alliance to Contain the Coronavirus from the Community Base
The community spread of COVID-19 requires an effective and efficient community response. The government has instituted a lockdown of government and commercial services, a curfew, and provided social distancing instructions to prevent contact and spread of the virus. These social distancing and disinfection measures are essential, but in many countries they have not been sufficient; a component of organized community action needs to be added.
Progress of the Community Response to COVID-19 (3/29/2021)
The Puerto Rico Community Foundation (PRCF) is calling on key institutions and organizations that are promoting and strengthening containment and prevention measures against the virus, to become part of the Multisectoral Alliance to Contain the Coronavirus from the Community Base. This is an invitation to embrace the mission of the alliance and to take decisive action to meet the guiding goals, from their respective platforms.
The objectives of the Alliance are:
- Support non-profit organizations and organized communities that focus on education and containment of the virus in vulnerable populations.
- Establish alliances with sectors to achieve the shared mission.
To be an ally*, you must be a non-profit organization, private institution or governmental organization.
*Allies are not necessarily recipients of donations from FCPR and will not necessarily be considered for donations. Calls for donations to support COVID-19 initiatives will be made by invitation directly to the organizations.
