As Director of the Racial Equity Building Institute for the Americas (REBIA), a program of the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, I want to share a reflection. In my recent article for Nonprofit Quarterly, entitled «Beyond Dialogue: Igniting Racial Justice in a Changing Political Landscape«I present strategies and discussions from our meeting «Dialogue among Racial Equity Builders». From REBIA, we promote this initiative to connect philanthropic leaders and knowledge creators of African descent in the Americas. In the article, I explore the power of art in the struggle for racial justice, the legal challenges for philanthropy that supports this cause, and the need to invest in the movement's ecosystem, especially in organizations led by people of African descent. I invite you to read this analysis, hoping it will spur conversation and action toward sustainable change.
