Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico grants $81,431 to strengthen the work of eight non-profits in their response to the earthquakes
To support the first responders - community-based organizations - actively working with the communities affected by the earthquakes, Puerto Rico Community Foundation (FCPR) granted $81,431 to eight nonprofits. The grants were awarded to Río Chiquito Communal Aqueduct Inc., Migrant Health Center Western Region, One Stop Career Center of PR, SACED, Our School, Capable Families, Red por los Derechos de la Niñez y la Juventud de PR, and Saint Mary of the Angels Foundation. Of these, the last four are providing emotional support.
These grants are possible thanks to contributions made to the Puerto Rico Community Recovery Fund, reactivated with an initial contribution approved by FCPR's Board of Directors. The Foundation is inviting non-profits in the area and may consider non-profits outside the area.
This is part of FCPR's strategic framework to support the southwestern region of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico Community Foundation awards $81,431 in grants to strengthen the work of eight nonprofit organizations in response to earthquakes
In order to respond to the emergency caused by the earthquakes in a strategic and rapid manner, the Puerto Rico Community Foundation(FCPR) granted $81,431 in donations to eight non-profit organizations that are attending to the needs of the victims in the southwest area of the island. The donations are made possible thanks to contributions made to the Puerto Rico Community Recovery Fund and an initial contribution approved by the PRCF Board of Directors. The Foundation is inviting organizations from the area and may consider organizations outside the area.
The organizations that have benefited so far are: Acueducto Comunal Río Chiquito Inc. in Ponce, Migrant Health Center Western Region, One Stop Career Center of PR, SACED, Our School, Capable Families,Red por los Derechos de la Niñez y la Juventud de PR, y Saint Mary of the Angels Foundation. Of these, the last four offer emotional assistance to the victims.
The approval of donations is part of the strategic plan The FCPR's plan to respond to the earthquakes in the southwestern part of the island.
