The Community Foundation of Puerto Rico (FCPR) announced the opening of the call for applications for the Vista Scholarship Fund, a scholarship program aimed at ophthalmology graduates who wish to continue their professional development through fellowship studies.
The Vista Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 at the initiative of Vista Ophthalmic Ambulatory Center (VISTA), an institution recognized for offering specialized services in ophthalmology. As part of its commitment to the development of the medical community in Puerto Rico, VISTA promotes this fund to support the training of subspecialists in critical areas of ophthalmology.
The fund offers supplemental financial assistance to physicians who have completed their residency in ophthalmology and are pursuing subspecialty studies in areas such as glaucoma, retina, cornea, plastics or oncology, both in Puerto Rico and abroad.
The scholarships, which can reach up to a maximum of $6,000 per beneficiary per year, are aimed at candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and commitment to community development.
