The PGA Legacy Fund for Puerto Rico administered by the Puerto Rico Community Foundation (PRCF)- a scholarship that honors the life and vision of Mr. Peter G. Alfond, a man whose passion for creativity, holistic wellness and philanthropy left its mark in multiple spheres. Through the FCPR, this fund is established to support talented music students, especially those who are dedicated to the study of the French horn or French horn, and thus become bearers of a sonorous and human legacy.
The purpose of this Fund is to offer an annual scholarship as supplementary financial support to outstanding students pursuing university studies in music, specifically in wind instruments, with special emphasis on the French horn and French horn. This scholarship seeks to promote the academic and musical talent of young residents of Puerto Rico, thus contributing to the artistic development of the island while honoring the memory and vision of Peter G. Alfond.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a permanent resident of Puerto Rico.
- Be a full-time student in the program in musical execution of a wind instrument, at the university level.
- Academic Performance (minimum required index):
- 3.00 or higher (on a scale of 4.00)
- Have a full academic load:
- 15 credits (undergraduate level)
- 9 credits (graduate level)
- Demonstrate financial need. The economic limitations of the candidates will be considered, so that the fund favors those with greater economic limitations.
- Demonstrate leadership and community engagement through extracurricular activities and volunteerism.
- Be available to participate in the interview process if required.
