On the right track! So are the 51 people who yesterday completed a free community incubation cycle in the northeast area of the island that provided them with tools to develop and execute business ideas.
The program, which seeks to stimulate sustainable economic development and solidarity entrepreneurship in the area, was launched on last March 11 and consisted of three cycles: pre-incubation, incubation and certification, services that are not offered in the area. The participants' areas of interest were: food manufacturing/restaurants, ecotourism and hospitality, professional services, agriculture and livestock, and handicrafts/retail.

The initiative was financially supported by the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), awarded to the Puerto Rico Community Foundation. In addition, the allies of the initiative and active actors in it were the Juan Martin Multidisciplinary Cultural Center (CCMJM), the Pro-Northeast Corridor Coalition (CPCEN), Sierra Club of Puerto Rico (SCPR) and the Transdisciplinary Institute of Social Research-Action (ITIAS) of the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in Humacao.
The graduation ceremony took place at the Activities Hall of the Juan Martin Multidisciplinary Center (former Carolina G. de Veve elementary school), in Luquillo.
Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico is committed to facilitating transformation processes in our communities through the promotion of community capital; in this case, we were able to strengthen human, financial and social capital.
