Equity in access: Water and food security

The Community Foundation's strategic approach is to strengthen and/or re-establish community aqueducts on the island, where there are 247 in 45 municipalities. We have already been able to impact 19 with financial support or technical assistance.

The aqueducts are located in: Añasco, Adjuntas, Ponce, Ciales, Corozal, Aibonito, Aguas Buenas, Cayey, Caguas, San Lorenzo, Patillas, Yabucoa, and Las Piedras.

In the food security area, we are providing a donation to the non-profit organization Casa Pueblo to support the re-establishment of their coffee cultivation, Madre Isla. For the last quarter of the year, we will be expanding this area with financial support or technical assistance to four community hydroponic projects.
