San Juan, Puerto Rico, December 14, 2018 | The Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico (FCPR) began accepting applications for scholarships from the Sol Puerto Rico Limited Fund which provides supplemental financial support to students pursuing careers related to the automotive industry on or off the Island. The novel initiative is driven by Sol Puerto Rico Limited, exclusive distributor of Shell fuel and Shell and Pennzoil lubricants on the Island.

In early 2018, Sol Puerto Rico Limited established Sol Puerto Rico Limited Fund Through the FCPR program, the company aims to support local talent and raise awareness among its scholarship recipients about their competitive potential, while encouraging them to contribute to the island’s socioeconomic development. Through this fund, the company awards annual scholarships not exceeding $2,000 per individual.

Applicants may be enrolled in accredited institutions within or outside Puerto Rico. The application deadline is January 18, 2019.

“The scholarship Sol Puerto Rico Limited It offers a valuable opportunity to students in engineering, industrial design, automotive mechanics, or other fields related to this industry, especially since our country is currently facing a difficult economic situation. ”Therefore, this financial relief provides a breather and encouragement to students who meet the criteria and requirements,” said Mary Ann Gabino, senior vice president of FCPR.

To participate, each student must initiate an online application process at www.fcpr.org, where it says REQUEST SUPPORT; there you will find the guide for the scholarship application process  Sol Puerto Rico Limited Fund. Some of the eligibility criteria include: being a permanent resident of Puerto Rico, satisfactory academic performance, demonstrating leadership in the community (through extracurricular or volunteer activities), and demonstrating financial need.
