On June 18, 2025, Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) presented the Corazón Award 2025 to Dr. Nelson Colón Tarrats, president and CEO of the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, in recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to social justice and tireless work for the well-being of the most vulnerable communities in the Puerto Rican archipelago.

The Corazón Award celebrates leaders who have demonstrated an exemplary track record in Latino philanthropy, combining empathy, action and community transformation. Dr. Colón Tarrats, with more than two decades at the helm of the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, has been a driving force behind initiatives that strengthen resilience, equity and sustainability in Puerto Rico, especially in contexts of emergency, post-disaster recovery and community economic development.

The Corazón Award reaffirms the importance of community philanthropy as a tool for building more just, inclusive and sustainable futures. Dr. Colón Tarrats' legacy continues to inspire leaders, foundations and social movements throughout the Americas.
