The Gualasia Scholarship Fund, established in the Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico (FCPR) today awarded $10,000 to students from Jayuya who are pursuing college degrees related to agriculture. Each student received $5,000.
Por for the second consecutive year, Maria Santiago y Valeria Lopez They qualified for the second round of scholarships from the Gualasia Fund, established in 2017 to provide financial support to students pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited educational institution in or outside of Puerto Rico in fields related to agriculture —agricultural sciences, agronomy, agricultural genetics, and biotechnology, among others. They must also be from Jayuya and demonstrate financial need, satisfactory academic performance, leadership, and an interest in community development.
