Fundación Comunitaria has awarded $64,945.10 to support nonprofit efforts to combat COVID-19 in vulnerable communities
Three non-profit organizations have received grants that will allow them to work closely with their communities in providing educational, preventive, and health services regarding COVID-19 in vulnerable communities around the island.
These organizations will implement the Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico strategy to mobilize the community to support the elderly—the population most at risk of death, especially those over 70 years of age.
In Puerto Rico, 21% of the population is 65 years of age or older, many of whom are vulnerable in terms of health, economic status, and social circumstances.
