The Puerto Rico Community Foundation (FCPR) announced today the assumption of duties by Lcda. Vivian I. Neptune Rivera as president and chief executive officer of the organization, marking the beginning of a new era of leadership for one of the country's leading philanthropic institutions.

The appointment of Ms. Neptune was made by the Board of Directors in March as part of a planned transition process aligned with the Foundation's vision of continuity, stability, and institutional growth. Neptune has a recognized professional career in the academic, legal, and administrative fields, having served as dean of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and as a member of the Community Foundation's Board of Directors for the past 12 years.

His arrival to the presidency occurs after the retirement of Dr. Nelson I. Colón Tarrats, who dedicated more than 34 years of service to the organization, including 26 years as president. Under his leadership, the Foundation strengthened its role as a driver of social investment, community resilience, and inclusive economic development in Puerto Rico and expanded its presence within the philanthropic ecosystem of the Americas.

As part of the transition process, Dr. Colón Tarrats will continue to collaborate with the organization as advisory president until December 2026, supporting Lcda. Neptune Rivera and ensuring the continuity of the programs, initiatives, and services offered by the Foundation in communities throughout Puerto Rico.

With over four decades of experience, the Puerto Rico Community Foundation has established itself as a leading institution in the philanthropic sector, driving initiatives focused on equity, community development, resilience, and collective well-being in Puerto Rico and the Americas.
